Washing your mattress cover isn’t typically on the top of your house maintenance list. Why? Well, for one, most mattresses don’t have the option! The most protection the average mattress has is the fitted sheet you sleep on (unless you buy a mattress protector separately.) Sheets and pillowcases get all of the love with weekly to-do’s, but what about your mattress?
Now, we’re not saying you can or should wash your mattress (not that it’s even possible). But keeping your mattress clean is more important than anything else because we spend up to HALF of our life in bed, and - we’ll spare you the grossest parts - mattresses are one of *the* dirtiest things in your whole bedroom. That’s why the Zip-n-Wash cover feature on Yogasleep Cool Collection Mattresses are so amazing - it makes the impossible task of keeping a mattress clean completely attainable. STEP 1: UNZIP THE COVER FROM THE MATTRESS
Strip your bed of all sheets and bed coverings. Using the handy 360º degree zipper, unzip the Zip-n-Wash cover from the mattress. No need to lift the corners of the mattress - the zipper goes all around the perimeter of the mattress. Only the top part of the cover (the white part) goes into the wash.
STEP 2: PUT IN WASHING MACHINE ON COLD SETTING
Wash in the washing machine in the cold water setting with laundry detergent. We don’t recommend using bleach as it’s too harsh on the fabric fibers. The Zip-n-Wash cover can be washed together with your sheets and pillowcases too - no need to keep separate.
STEP 3: HANG TO DRY
Simply hang or lay flat your Zip-N-Wash Cover to dry for the best results. If you’re crunched on time, you can put your cover in the dryer on tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. (High heat could potentially shrink the cover.)
